Learning in motion

Clearly I am the worst at this.

without comments

I keep doing this. I get all pumped about blogging during a school break and I write some post about how hyped I am about who knows what and how I’m going to keep blogging about it. Clearly I’m lying. I’ll admit it, I’m a liar. It’s not intentional though. I mean well each time but alas EVERYTHING gets in the way.

Really I just post a blog post because I remember that I need to update my website and get on this spree. I’m sure many of you can relate to that. Well those of you who don’t have active sites. Truly I should get more active, I’m doing stuff! Just not with my own site. By doing stuff I mean learning, forever learning. I just finished an Android application development course. It was cool BUT working with Eclipse IDE with the android plug-in was frustrating. Happily during said course the Android Studio was released. Eclipse isn’t a bad IDE it was just being buggy as heck and I spent a lot of time researching erroneous errors while trying to learn. But anyways it’s over and I survived and I’m not turned off on the process so I will not complain.

In the Android course was a group project, also a bit frustrating. But once I got some classmates to pair code with me online it was far less so. Pair coding is great, I love it. We can work off each others strengths. Even if someone is doing more debugging than coding they are very much a key part of the process. We ended up with a functioning product that is respectable for a first try done by all newbs from all over the country. I’m going to tweak it and see what I can make out of it. It’s a nice base bookshelf app, you can add, edit books, there are different list options, and works with SQLite DB.

I’ve also been learning javascript and angular.js via

This coming quarter (that starts in a week) I’m going to be taking 2 art courses, Intro to Drawing and Visual Art Appreciation. I am also going to be attending a 15 week Java Programming course 3 nights a week for the next 15 weeks. Yay! My bachelors end date has been extended but I’m ok with that, it’s not by much, I’ll graduate next Spring. It’s ok, it’s all worth it.

Well it’s Friday night and I’ve had a long week.

Time to grab dinner and drinks with friends because… I DON’T HAVE HOMEWORK TO DO! *throws confetti in celebration*
